Old Skool Reviews : Vengeance
Vengeance* (Thailand 2006)
Vengeance is an excellent example of a modern Asian horror with plenty of supernatural SFX assisted peril and thrills.
Police follow escaped prisoners into a forest on the Thailand / Myanmar border which is apparently avoided by everyone local (though not because Rambo lives there), when they get attacked by killer wasps, crocodiles, murderous forest nymphs and then a giant serpent they can see why. The police end up having to fight alongside the criminals just to survive. But their troubles have only just started as they realise when they go to a native village and their hosts promptly turn into vampires…
Often a bit confusing and a bit dark to see whats going on but overall good fun. Plenty of action and scary moments.
* Thai title : Phairii phinaat paa mawrana
